Beauty The Beast
There lived a young, lively lady in a small and forgotten town in France. Belle, they called her, for she was the town’s quiet and kind beauty that always offered a helping hand whenever a tragedy occurred. When the season’s pumpkins were destroyed, she was there to plant new seeds. When the youngest of the sheep had their necks broken, she was there to nurse the next litter.
How kind, indeed. How gracious, indeed. How coincidental, too. Her family, a father and two sisters, could never mention these things, but Belle’s constant presence arose their suspicions. Chicken eggs were cracked the day Belle had been tasked with collecting them, and it was under her watch that two lambs broke their legs.
